Weekend Getaway- Singapore
thanks to AirAsia, now everyone can fly. with cheap fares, i had my weekend getaway to Singapore!
got to Putrajaya Sentral 6 in the morning, taking the first train towards LCCT. with the new bus route to LCCT from KLIA transit, it's truly efficient and hassle free =)
that's my plane there, powered by Shell... ... but the pilot sucks...
little Venezuela girl at the Airport, can't wait for the journey ahead away from home, blame the backlight, it misses her beautiful eyes; little Singaporean girl travels along side her granny, look out the window pondering upon home.
beautiful sunlight approaching Singapore
touch down at Singapore!
Changi Airport is beautiful alright...especially love the sunlight thru the roof and light up the airport
efficient Skytrain and SMRT, took me fast enough to Aljunied
classic Church adjacent to Aljunied Station, and a beautiful weather in Singapore
took a fast breakfast at some random shop at Geylang, wantan mee, the pork is great but the mee wasn't that nice... just 8 minutes walk from the station, i got to Geylang 19, which my hotel located.
saw this nice looking hotel on my way to my hotel. damn! it looks nicer! hotel 81 Star, that's where i stay. the staff wasn't friendly but efficient. well, i don't care anyway. as long as they're fast!
Hotel 81 Star located just behind the Shell Station. owh man. look at how expensive their petrol are...
checking in, settling down our belongings, we took the train to Bugis! had a lunch at the food junction
Bugis Junction is sort of like the flea market we have at the Curve back in Malaysia, it's just 10 times better!!! with air-conditional and vintage looking shoplots!
from Bugis Junction we head towards Bugis Street, which is exactly like Petaling Street but just the crowds are 10 times more. i really enjoying my time walking, thanks to the wonderful pedestrian pavement they'd provided along the town.
imposter!!!
temple at the Bugis Street
panoroma view of Bugis Street, if you observe closely, Chinese and Indian temples are just next to each other
then we saw this! weird looking shopping mall
and of course, we took a look inside....it was totally empty, and roughly any people shopping there...
we took a big round and went back to Bugis Junction to take the train to our next destination!
yes! Chinatown... quite crowded on the Sunday.
and i shot some fellow shooting at somebody shooting at something...
wow! what a name for a shop...the hot & spicy seduction...
3.15pm! we look for Hi-Tea...
i met her. a brand new sparkling Vespa on my way in search of food.
at the Smith Street...we found the famous Peanut Soup...taste good!
after filling up our stomach, of course, must have a look at the Legendary Merlion that'd been stonified by Medusa. and i just created the word "Stonified"!!! owh no! it's already in Urban Dictionary. damn.
we took the exit at Raffles, just in time to witness some people commit suicide...
awesomely cool Maybank Building in Singapore...well, it's great to see some familiar name in foreign places especially when it's so big!...on right, the vintage Fullerton Hotel...
Merlion was borned in 1966 when the lion mated with goldfish...it inherited the powerful fangs of a lion and the sacred power of a goldfish, power blast. and the whiskey of the thunder cat!
and that's Marina Bay Sands...
and Merlion has a son too...Merlion Jr.
if you feel bored at the Merlion Park, try the Hippo River Cruise...it cruises around Marina Bay, Merlion Park, Esplanade and Clarke Quay...
Crowds at Merlion Park...
then we walk towards Esplanade looking for some light snack...
by the time we done our snack, it's already night fall...
and be sure to check out the signature night Scene from Esplanade
and that's...the end of day 1...
Day 2, Singapore Zoo!
the endangered species, Proboscis Monkey, and they are great swimmer...
one of the creatures that mesmerized me...the polar bear...despite being a good swimmer, do you know that polar bear will drown? due to exhaustion, and mainly because of the Global Warming that had caused more iceberg that used to be their resting ground melted...
Wildebeest, also known as Gnu, native from Africa
Zebra, are close relatives to horses and donkey. and their stripes are for camouflage but only works on predators who are color blind, and too bad there wasn't many predators that are color blind. life is cruel.
Lions...and Ms. T thought the lioness are tiger...why?
and then, the sky pouring the rain like nobody's business...and we stucked in the reptiles house....dealing with my phobia for about an hour before the rain subsides...T,T
i used to have this as a pet...it's so cute but then...tragics...
Giant Anacoda believe to be the heaviest snakes ever recored while python once recorded as the longest snake...
it'd been raining heavily and affected on our progress in the zoo...and we risk our life, soaking with rain got ourselves to KFC...little Zebra already waited for me...pondering my arrival...
and then. Finally i'd realized my dream since Standard 4...i'd finally met. the Mandrill of the Lion King...Mandrill is closely related to Drill and it is the world largest species of Monkey...conservation status rated as Vulnerable, i'd say it's rare nowadays. couldn't get the best view of Mandrill due to the heavy rain, but heck...try imagine it...
tortoise has always been my favorite creatures of all...Especially the Galapagos Giant Tortoise, and half of the giant tortoise species already extincted. due to mankind's activities...
also, the Penguin from Africa. wasn't the best i'd seem, my favorite, has to be the Emperor Penguin.
in 2008, November 14. marked an unforgettable tragic in Singapore Zoo, Nordin Montong, Malaysia was brutally killed by these white tigers. Petrified.

a Baboon enjoying his rainy day...Flange of Baboons are extremely aggressive. don't mess with them, especially laughing at their lower back...*ahem*
that's sum up our magficient trip to the Zoo. Singapore Zoo is definately worth visit, the management is thoughtful, beside decent walkway in the Zoo, also, there are special observatory room with air-conditioning for you to rest and enjoy close observation with the wilderness.
and Ben & Jerry's reward for our awesomeness.
after Zoo, we took the bus back to AngMo Kio, take the train to Orchard road...where all the expensive stores located...and celebrities too!
we spent our whole evening there, was looking for British style hi-tea but sadly there're only bar & lounge...damn...then meet up with DobleV for Dinner at Food Republic...
after dinner, we took a stroll at Orchard road... Orchard road is filled with shopping malls and shopping malls...everywhere there's only shoppin mall, Paragon, Atria, Lucky, Ion and many many more...and of course, branded stores!!!
that. wrap up our second day journey...
also, just so you know prostitution in Singapore is legal and it is well in style in Geylang, which is where i stay...hehe...
my flight had been reschedule from 2pm to 9am, so didn't get to have any decent breakfast... and there comes my plane...cheers! thanks for reading.

Weekend Getaway- Batu Caves
Weekend Getaway to Batu Caves, Lord Murungan Temple. it wasn't a overnight trip like my usual weekend getaways, just a short one. heck! and i'm finally got to Batu Caves ever since my primary school trip! as told in legends, myths, locals... the temple is inevitably...always filled with homeless pigeon, i mean sacred pigeons, and it won't shit on your head! *promise*!
young faithful devotee flinging seeds of hope potently.
close up and personal with the God of war. Lord Murungan.
after a tramp on 272 steep staircases, you'll see a smaller version of Lord Murungan welcoming you
devotees already started their prayer when i got up... and it was packed with tourists! and these innocent tourists almost ruin my shot! but they did apologize eventually unlike the previous f*ck*ng Ch*ne*e that collided hard on my tripod then pretend as if nothing happen and bitch away.
and the temple people are absolutely friendly and photogenic! at least not camera shy like those f*ck*ng Ch*n*s* i met couple months back... ...Mr. Ramal from South India had a chatter with him, he'd served in the temple for the past 20 years, almost devoted half of his life time to the God. humbled.
this Hindu Priest chanting Gayatri Mantras and welcome my call to the temple, also offered me a butter candle, flowers and chanting on mantra. Blessed!
faithful follower from Far India
meet the temple guardian.
faithful Hindus performing their prayers.
and somebody got piss off with the Canon, it was shed off in the temple. nobody even bother to pick it up and bring it home... and don't believe in Canon printer too...
the storekeeper in the temple... i bought 100 plus from him, seeing i was carrying so many gears. he opens up the drink and put in a straw for me...and it saved my life.
this lady kneeled all the way up to the temple while chanting. salute!
beside faithful devotees, be prepare to encounter with some wilderness too! the monkeys! look at the little monkey, Ananab! as i was told. that's his name. Ananab.
"Damn it! who put nuts in my Nasi Lemak? don't you know i'm allergic to nuts?!"
the Lord of all monkeys, the Monkey God, Lord Hanuman. look closely at the Lord's heart, engraved the Lord Rama and Sita.
there's a few temples at Batu Caves, wasn't sure what's the purposes for each but here's some devotees from the Monkey God Temple
resting and enjoying his time at the temple.
the Batu Caves. Recommended for climbing... and phalling.
oh yeah. i checked the weather forecast a day ahead, said, thunder storms in the morning. hmm... ...thunder. storm.? but thankfully it wasn't! else, i'll be back home empty handed.
BATU CAVES. definitely worth visit for the weekend!
More on Lord Murugan
well you have to come back with some formal old school postcard alike shot aren't you. it was a vertical panorama shots in fact, 5 photo-merged.

KL Nightglow
KL night view from Ampang Lookout Point, a clear sky after rain...
temperature at Ampang Point chilling at 20°C with the misty haze after rain, absolutely enjoyable!
for those who hasn't got the chance to drop by Ampang Lookout Point just yet, go ahead!
what's stopping you?
it's like a Bucket List, some thing you have to do at least once in your life! especially Malaysian!
enjoying the chilling weather, with cup of hot drink and KL Night-glow for your backdrop. with your love one, or friends for chatter.
here, a night-glow with warmer white balance. and those Street lights were blinking as if stars winking at you...welcoming you for completing a task in Bucket List!
and this shot failed after waited for 5 minutes, some f*ck*ng Ch*nese came around and knock on my tripod! and didn't even apologize! f*ck you stup*d Ch*nese. come on man, if you're reading this, don't ever be that assh*le okay? it's rude.

Sepang Grand Prix
Sepang Grand Prix was the idea of our former prime minister, Dr. Mahathir, designed by Hermann Tilke in about 10 years ago. and with Sepang Grand Prix, it altered Malaysia's fates once and for all. it opens up our eyes to the world! that's what i reckon!
Seriously. the Reds. my favorite team.
went on the Practise day... with no idea at all, the ticket just costed 100 bucks! and hell! the website stated 250 bucks for student price! geez... damn it! i'll buy for saken with 100 bucks! and i didn't get the ticket eventually because i'm pissed!
love the sky on Practise day...lovely clouds...
be proud for our Lotus Team...and i would love to censored the small little Proton wording at the rear...
and almost scream my heart out seeing the Schumi! yes! the Schumi...King...
and Jenson Button! current world champion...love him even since watched him from Top Gear =)
and his machine is just Captivating!
Toro Rosso, some might hate the Raging Bulls, and it's ruthless...and i'm kindly like the Raging bull design
and Virgin looks wonderful on my Screen the colors blended well. but it does look suck on TV. beats me. i don't know why...
and suprisingly...Renault looks great too...and may be that's how F1 draws the crowds to Grand Prix instead...cause these machines appear charmingly alive when you see it!
and sorry Forced India.... you look yucky still...
the Classic Bull...
and please don't mistaken this as a prototype F1 or test car... apparently it's not! it just doesn't need sponsors!
owh yeah! Ferrari. are you Alonso?
and capturing these high speed machine is super duper hard! and 90% of the images i shot are like this...out of focus
or this...OOOS. object out of sight...
see i told you...Virgin colors work!
Mclaren Mercedes. Hamilton on wheels...microphone in framed.
luckily the groundman maintain the tracks well... standing ovation for him, who-so-ever.
and we were so close to the machines!!! laugh at those grand stand buggers!
i once thought. F1 is a plane...even look for it...but tough luck, no F1 falling from the sky...
and if you claimed yourself had watched most live F1 shows. slap yourself. it couldn't be you. it must be this little fellow. Mr. Piper. for 10 years, he stands tall and loyal.
and, as usual, unforeseen unpredictable. the rains is here...
that's all from the little practise...see you next year...and congrats to Vettel.
